How we were born

At one time, a group of regulars, who called themselves the Shamrock Seniors, decided admission into the bullpen would be a non-perishable food item or cash donation for a Christmas fund to help families in need, according to a 1997 tribute column in the Calgary Herald by Brian Brennan.

The legacy of the Shamrock Seniors lives on!

The Shamrock Children’s Christmas Society is a non-profit charity, that was established 40 years ago.  We have made Christmas dreams come true for thousands of children.  In 2017 we supported 229 children.

We contact some local schools who recommend to us, families in need of a helping hand at Christmas.  Families are interviewed by members of our team to determine their needs.  The shopping team shops for toys and clothing according to each child’s wish list.  Santa and a team of Elves deliver the gifts to these families.  Food hampers are provided with turkey’s and other fixings required for Christmas dinner
